Great Lakes region of the american music therapy association
GLR of AMTA serves as a regional organization for music therapists, offering education, advocacy, and more for the profession of music therapy.
Ohio is one of six states that make up the composition of GLR, alongside these state organizations: - Illinois Association for Music Therapy - The Association for Indiana Music Therapy - Michigan Music Therapists - Music Therapy Association of Minnesota - Wisconsin Chapter for Music Therapy
As per GLR: 'Each state in the GLR has its own organization, continuing education opportunities, and task force working for state recognition of music therapy. There is reciprocity amongst states in the GLR for continuing education opportunities. You need to become a member of your state’s organization separately from AMTA and GLR to access these opportunities.
GLR is one of the seven regions that make up AMTA. GLR leadership consists of a representative from each state organization as well as an executive committee and standing committee representatives.
AMTA is our national music therapy organization. If you are a member of AMTA, you are automatically a member of GLR and can hold office in GLR, serve on a Standing Committee, and run for the Assembly of Delegates.'
