In an effort to further support music therapists seeking continuing education, AOMT has established 2 professional scholarships in 2023: $100 to assist with GLR conference and $400 to assist with the AMTA national conference.
|
AOMT student members are eligible to apply for AOMT’s two Internship scholarships: Delaina Hodgson Memorial Intern Scholarship (Fall) and AOMT Intern Scholarship (Spring). Ohio interns are eligible as are all Ohio music therapy students no matter where their internship is.

AOMT has helped the Task Force introduce HB 184, which would create a license for music therapists in Ohio and ensure that clients receive services from qualified music therapists. Many AOMT members were present during the sponsor and proponent testimony hearings in the spring prior to the legislative summer recess.

AOMT works hand-in-hand with the Ohio Task Force, AMTA, and CBMT to advocate for music therapists throughout the state and is the only state organization to have a line in the budget to financially support the Task Force.

Our 2024 AOMT Membership Directory will include a listing of the AOMT Executive Committee, AOMT Mission Statement, a list of National Roster Internship Sites in Ohio, and a compilation of populations served by Ohio music therapists.

AOMT is reaching out to the regions within the state to facilitate networking opportunities for both professional and personal growth.
